This includes persons seeking to qualify for office as a candidate with no party affiliation.

Local Lee County Candidates Qualifying for Office with the Lee County Supervisor of Elections

Qualifying for elected public office means that a candidate must meet the required standard set by law - it also means that:

  • A candidate must file the preliminary forms required by Florida law;
  • In order for a candidate to have his or her name placed on the ballot, they must either submit the required number of valid electors' signatures by the deadline set in law or pay a filing fee for the office sought;
  • A candidate must finalize and file the remainder of forms for the candidate-qualifying process, and pay the filing fee (if any - unless candidate signatures were submitted) prior to the end of the qualifying period set by Florida law.

The Lee County Supervisor of Elections offers a variety of local candidate online packets. Prospective Lee County candidates interested in qualifying for elected public office can download, print and complete the forms needed to qualify for local office.
